Eva Meyer was a Russian Jew, born shortly after the Russian Revolution. Her family emigrated from Eastern Europe through Cuba to the United States. This story is both personal as well as universal, in that it tells of the struggles of working class immigrants, as they strive to survive the old world, and live, work and thrive in a new world.
